However, faux wood blinds should not be installed near heat sources like radiators, heat registers, or space heaters, as these can damage the material. Proper airflow is crucial; keeping the slats closed for extended periods or adding other window treatments in front of or behind the blinds can elevate the temperature around them. Temperatures exceeding 140°F (60°C) can cause the slats to warp or twist.

The inherent variations in color and grain in wood add a unique charm to each piece, making every blind distinct. These natural features include small solid knots, dark mineral deposits, and "tiger stripes"—grain patterns that run perpendicular to the wood grain—which are normal and add to the character of the wood. It's important to note that, as a natural material, wood can exhibit slight curvatures, resulting in uneven light gaps between slats. Over time, wood blinds may lose their original intensity due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, influenced by both interior and exterior environments. Additionally, wood is not suitable for high-moisture areas, as excessive moisture can cause warping and may lead to painted wood slats cracking or chipping.
